Plan B

SOH and I are off to choose our own 'Salt & Pepper' as the animal rescue centre are making us jump through hoops to prove we are suitable owners... so much so that we now feel totally alienated by them as to our suitability to even manage the goldfish in the water feature as we are so obviously lacking in common sense and practical amenities. Ah well, so much for a well thought out plan of adopting an unwanted animal; chalk another failure up on the board against us.

So tonight we will be heading to our local Pet Supermarket to see what they have in stock and whether the one's we will choose will at least be our choice and not Hobson's.

Tomorrow we hope to have some news, pics and other choice tidbits of information as to what/whom 'Salt and Pepper' actually turn out to be.

BEst of luck there, Sage.

"adopting " a dog can be as bad, if not worse) as adopting a child..

I can't believe how hard it is to adopt a pet! Madness!

I hate how the animal charities do that, if I say so myself I am an excellent 'cat mum' and there isn't much I don't know about them....hell, I even worked for the CPL for a time but that didn't stop the RSPCA making me feel like the most unsuitable individual to own a pet ever to cross their threshold when I tried to adopt from them. I know they need to be careful etc but sometimes I think thier efforts are way over the top and they miss many good opportunities, which ultimately isn't in the animals' best interests.

It's easier in this country to have a child than to get an animal from a charity organisation!

Wow, I didn't realize that the rescue programs would be hard to deal with, Sage!
Guess I'd better read the current post and see what S & P turns out to be! Maybe you and SOH went and rescued a couple of mice?? or seagulls from the dock, or bunnies from the brush...
