Saturday Satire : The Girlfriend

After a long night of making love to his new girlfriend, Arthur notices a photo of a man on her bedside table.

At first, he really didn't give it much thought; she had never mentioned it so why should he. But after a month or so he begins to stress about it; even imagining the photo is staring at him doing the deed. It was causing him so much anxiety that he finally decides ask about it.

"Is this your ex-husband?" he nervously asks.

"No, silly," she replies, snuggling up to him.

"Another boyfriend, then?" he continues.

"No, not at all," she says, nibbling away at his ear.

"Is it your dad or your brother?" he inquires, hoping to be reassured.

"No, no, no!!!" she answers.

"Well, who in the hell is he, then?" he demands.

"That's me before the surgery.

..and back to work I go

Yee gods caruthers the wind blows hard down 'ere at times.

I dressed the dogs up, in their hi-vis jackets, leads, and collars but I pulled on a dark old coat with as much wet proofing ability as paper but we all got soaked in the driving rain and gales which has hist cornwall.

Yet as I look out from the classroom, I can see blue skies so hopefully the worst of the wind has passed by.. it remains to be seen what damage has been caused as it was black when I left home this morning.

New Years Day at Gwithian

Yesterday was lovely, between the showers, so we took the Pond Boys down to Gwithian Beach to have a run and get the kinks out. Not to mention, tire the little s**s out so we could enjoy a peaceful New Years Day.

I would have had some pictures, but someone thought that it would be too wet to take the camera, so you will just have to take my word for it that the boys enjoyed themselves.

What was so funny was after a longish run on the dunes chasing tennis balls they spotted the pond where they swim and shot off towards it.. it was lovely to watch them enjoying themselves in the water it was just like having excited small anklesnappers seeing the fun through their eyes.

Dinner was a lovely lamb shoulder, roasted slowly with garlic and will make a final reappearance tonight as shepherds pie topped with creamy mashed potato and will be served with peas mmmm

Happy New Year 2012

2011 was a mixed bag for me. Lots of friends that were made in 2010 were soon lost, and then forgotten. In the wake of that, a lot of good friendships were borne, and from small acorns those friendships have become strengthened.

I still have friends from 2010 who I hope will stay as friends, even though we are not in daily contact. To everyone on my bloglist today, I hope you have a wonderful day, with no hangovers, and Pray that 2012 will bring you luck and happiness
