Can you help?

Sky are doing an advert for their channels, showing clips of high quality shots all played to a background of True Colours... but can we think of the name of the singer?

No, we don't think it is Cyndi Lauper, SOH doesn't think is Dolly Parton (but I am not so sure) and a web search this morning has revealed that other people are as bugged as I am for finding out the answers..

Can anyone help enlighten us?

Ane Brune

Do a youtube search for "Ane Brune" "True Colors"

Remember, Google is your friend!

Actually, the song has been covered by everybody - it's a general rule of mine that covers are never as good as the original and indeed, Cyndi Lauper's version is hard to beat - but I reckong Eva Cassidy's cover of True Colors on her American Tune album is close to perfect. So that's one exception that proves the rule.

Soft Cell's cover of Tainted Love is another one - but who did the original? hint: T. Rex

Sounds like Joanna Newson to me!

I havent seen the advert but the most popular (and my personal favourite) version of true colours was sung my Eva Cassidy. She was a very tallented young woman her death was a true loss to music.

Hope all is well.

According to wikipedia, it was in fact sung by Ane Brune so Zeltus was spot on... nice one.. not that we didn't believe him but just so little information on the advert to give us a clue.

I personally like the eva cassidy version, one day I will get a copy of her songs
