Or leap year day... when we have a full day extra in the calendar and traditionally it was for girls to propose to their fellas although I don't think many people are too bothered with waiting for the four years these days.
I have walked the dogs, well I have thrown lots of balls for them and they are now sleeping while I have some washing on that will need to go outside and enjoy the delights of the sunshine. It is cold here though, which is a shame as it would be nice to have sat in outside enjoying the last of the february days.
Winter (dare I say it) seems to have bypassed me, hardly any frosts to speak of and certainly no snow. No doubt she will come back and bite me on the rear end with some ferocious March weather in the month to come.
I extend an invitation to my bloggy friends to visit with me should you choose to do so, I have a spare bedroom and can lay on a suitably Cornish style breakfast.. just need to put up with two black labradors checking you out lol. Thank you for the suggestion Uncle Bernard :-)

I am humbled
I truly am humbled by the amount of support I have received. It is warming to know that you my friends, and some we haven't met yet (though there is still time), have been there mentally giving me support.
Even the doctor last week, told me some sage advice (geddit lol), and that was to be strong and not take any more stories. Accept the situation and move on..
The dogs are getting lots of walks, more so this week as I need to keep doing things to keep busy. I have packed everything up of his and it just needs to be collected; the remainder can then be stored in the garage but as long as I can get my bike out I don't care.
While life is a little hard at times, I think of all the positive things I have, and keep taking those steps forward. Plans are being made, not big ones, just little ones. Like reorganising, redesigning the nest and gives me something to aim for in the next few months by which time the weather should be better and the beach will be calling to me.
Love you all xx

Nearly Done
I don't want to put too much on here as it is still a little too raw. Decisions had to be made about the relationship I was in as I was living a lie for the past 18 months. I wanted fidelity, I wanted to share my life with a certain someone exclusively but he didn't feel the same way and chose to use his job and shifts to meet and have relationships with other women. I couldn't prove it until recently and even when confronted he chose still to lie to me and at that point in time I realised that it couldn't go on.
His possessions will be leaving this week, the dogs will be remaining solely with me and I am now back on my own again, older, sadder, wiser but with lovely views over the Cornish Coast to keep me going when the tears fall.
Thank you for your words of wisdom, and comfort. They have been a light in the darkness

Saturday Satire : The Girlfriend
After a long night of making love to his new girlfriend, Arthur notices a photo of a man on her bedside table.
At first, he really didn't give it much thought; she had never mentioned it so why should he. But after a month or so he begins to stress about it; even imagining the photo is staring at him doing the deed. It was causing him so much anxiety that he finally decides ask about it.
"Is this your ex-husband?" he nervously asks.
"No, silly," she replies, snuggling up to him.
"Another boyfriend, then?" he continues.
"No, not at all," she says, nibbling away at his ear.
"Is it your dad or your brother?" he inquires, hoping to be reassured.
"No, no, no!!!" she answers.
"Well, who in the hell is he, then?" he demands.
"That's me before the surgery.

..and back to work I go
Yee gods caruthers the wind blows hard down 'ere at times.
I dressed the dogs up, in their hi-vis jackets, leads, and collars but I pulled on a dark old coat with as much wet proofing ability as paper but we all got soaked in the driving rain and gales which has hist cornwall.
Yet as I look out from the classroom, I can see blue skies so hopefully the worst of the wind has passed by.. it remains to be seen what damage has been caused as it was black when I left home this morning.

New Years Day at Gwithian
Yesterday was lovely, between the showers, so we took the Pond Boys down to Gwithian Beach to have a run and get the kinks out. Not to mention, tire the little s**s out so we could enjoy a peaceful New Years Day.
I would have had some pictures, but someone thought that it would be too wet to take the camera, so you will just have to take my word for it that the boys enjoyed themselves.
What was so funny was after a longish run on the dunes chasing tennis balls they spotted the pond where they swim and shot off towards it.. it was lovely to watch them enjoying themselves in the water it was just like having excited small anklesnappers seeing the fun through their eyes.
Dinner was a lovely lamb shoulder, roasted slowly with garlic and will make a final reappearance tonight as shepherds pie topped with creamy mashed potato and will be served with peas mmmm

Happy New Year 2012
2011 was a mixed bag for me. Lots of friends that were made in 2010 were soon lost, and then forgotten. In the wake of that, a lot of good friendships were borne, and from small acorns those friendships have become strengthened.
I still have friends from 2010 who I hope will stay as friends, even though we are not in daily contact. To everyone on my bloglist today, I hope you have a wonderful day, with no hangovers, and Pray that 2012 will bring you luck and happiness

Saturday Satire : The Baby Doctor
A woman carried a baby (who wouldn't stop crying) into the paediatrician's office.
She was shown into a room to wait for the doctor.
When he arrived, the doctor examined the baby and asked the woman, Is he breast fed or on the bottle?'
'Breast fed' she replied. 'Well, strip to your waist,' the doctor ordered. She did. He pressed, kneaded and pinched both breasts for a while in a detailed examination.
Motioning to her to get dressed he said, 'No wonder this baby is hungry. You don't have any milk.'
'Naturally,' she said, 'I'm his Grandma. But I'm glad I came.'

Random Thoughts
Thinking back over 2011, which is always fascinating.. and flew by so quickly that it has gone before I have realised it is almost 2012.
We started off 2011 with some extremely cold weather, and some 6 inches of snow which although was pretty was not ideal driving conditions. February was cold, dark and very wet while March wasn't much better.. Jasper joined us at the end of March and has settled down lovely; April was lovely weather, mild and unseasonable with the delights of the royal wedding on the 29th - can't believe that was 8 months ago. May was wayward with the weather, some days hot and sunny others cold and windy... while June was better at the beginning than the end.. something to do with the school holidays. July was wet, wet, wet and August was redeemed at the end with a batch of lovely hot weather just after schools went back. September was warm, dry and lovely, with October proving to be a gloriously autumnal dry and warm month with November carrying on the theme only having windy and stormy times towards the beginning of december... so my year has been on the whole mild and enjoyable so what 2012 will bring I am not sure.
According to the papers, this is the last year as it when the mayan calendar ends on 21/12/2012... now my thoughts are that it could just be because they thought that would be far enough to calculate but who knows... apparently many people are arranging parties for the date to enjoy a last fling before the following day arrives :-)

Traditional - Goosed for Christmas
Last night we finished the christmas goose, it was lovely but we probably won't be having it again in the near future. The last goose I had was when mum was still alive, and she and dad arranged to have a goose from a close friend. What mum didn't know was that this particular goose had been hatched at the back of beyond along with some fellow siblings but when they grew bigger, they along with momma and poppa goose went to live with the friend who had a farm and therefore plenty of space.
If you have never had goose, they are full of dark and succulent meat, just think a bigger version of a duck.. almost so big that some manipulation had been necessary to even get thedamn thing in the oven and I was stupid enough to get up at 5.30am to turn the oven on and force it into the confined space.. The pond boys thought this was a treat for them and were sadly mistaken - although they have had more than their fair share of the meat skin.
Served with goose fat roasted potatoes, the infamously bad tasting brussel sprouts (not for me thanks) and carrots/peas with some lovely gravy to die for it was a glorious finish for this bird.
