I had to come up with a presentation on the roles of a professional teacher and I started with one of my favourite quotes - who can't help think of Socrates as influencing modern day thinking..

I would probably have added 'dogsbody' and 'good at jumping through hoops for current politicians,' but then my view of the job as it has become became very jaundiced in the years preceding my retirement.
